Vandehei Structures

AVI, P.C. with landscaping assistance from Greenscape were directly hired by the City of Cheyenne to assist in creating an image for the I-25 and Vandehei Street I-25 interchange roundabout project. Concepts were presented in workshop fashion to a focus group consisting of staff from several City departments, as well as, the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) The meeting generated feedback that led to the final entry monument concept.  The roundabout feature consists of different paving materials, walls, and sculptural elements in keeping with the railroad theme used throughout the Cheyenne area. The monument sign replicates existing monuments with the added aesthetic of a railroad trestle bridge.  The challenge of the design was to go from concept to final WYDOT format design in five weeks.

They were particularly good working with the contractors. The skillset of the group was particularly strong with civil engineering and road/drainage designs, but not quite as strong in natural channel design principles. – Luke Schultz – Coal Creek Sediment Reduction and Bank Stabilization
